The ever popular Burscough Heritage Weekend, this year on 18th/19th June, will become a big joint celebration with the H&R Ainscough barge restoration project, The Wharf and other local organisations which are also taking part. It’s expected that the village will be filled with the sounds, sights and smells of old canal boats, fairground rides, lorries, horses and carts, crafts and music. The Barge Restoration Project is also organizing an Historic Boat Festival to attract as many traditional 'working boats' as possible to line the canal, alongside the star attractions: the two ex H & R Ainscough’s boats Ambush and Viktoria.
Events around the village will run from 10am on both days, with more information becoming available on the internet and the press as plans are firmed up with the best places to start being the Facebook pages of the Burscough Heritage group and the H&R Ainscough Barge Restoration Project.
